What is your most intimate relationship?

In the immortal words of Mona Lisa Vito from My Cousin Vinny, “it’s a trick question!”

Notice I said “what,” not “with whom?” 😁

Allow me to tell you the answer:

Your most intimate relationship, the most intimate relationship you can have on this planet, is with food.

You literally allow it into your body.

Your body is perfectly designed to convert those substances into your physical body. It gives you energy to perform amazing feats. It also powers that incredible organ between your ears: your brain, which allows us to imagine, to love, to feel a full spectrum of emotions.

Your body is also designed to protect you and keep you healthy, so when you eat something, it sets off an array of processes to decide what to do with what you’ve just eaten.

Is this safe?

Is this useful?

Is this a building block?

Is this for energy?

Do I need this now?

Can I use this later?

Every time you eat, you put your body to work figuring out what to do with this foreign object.

With that as a backdrop, how much thought do you give to what exactly you are putting in your mouth and why?

We’ve all heard the term “mindless eating.”

There’s no doubt that “all work and no play makes Jack a dull boy,” and we should certainly enjoy our food and indulge occasionally, but it’s important to make sure that the vast majority of the food you eat is the three “rights.”

Right combination and the right quantity of the right foods.

Learning those “rights” is what macro tracking is all about.

It is one of the ways we teach people to find what way of eating is right for them.

Maybe that’s not for you. Something else will be.

We just need to do a little experimentation to figure it out.

And we are always here to help.

Just ask.
