It’s not you its me…

It is us, actually!

As I approach 60, I am becoming more and more aware that I can’t do the same workouts that I did when I was 30, 40, or even 50.

My body is different, and that’s not an opinion or me being self deprecating…

It’s a fact.

Injuries pile up. Hormonal changes. Lifestyle changes. Desire changes. Scheduling changes.

I have to be OK with that.

Kidding myself into believing I still am the 40-something year old that that would do hour-long, beyond-crazy workouts is not constructive. In fact, it’s destructive.

Ask me (and my physical therapist, and my massage therapist, and my acupuncturist) how I know!

Now, don’t get me wrong, I’m not saying I don’t work out, but I do work out differently.

I have to be more intelligent, more thoughtful about my workouts.

The days of throwing together a few random intense exercises and doing them as hard as possible is a terrible mistake, one that leads to injuries, both long- and short-term.

As we age, we need to make sure that the workouts we are doing are planned properly and designed for our needs, which are frankly different from a 20, 30, or even early-40-something  year old.

Working muscles in different ways, including using tempo, isometric holds, sometimes heavy weights, and sometimes light weights. Sprinkling in exercises to help strengthen joints, ligaments, and tendons. Adding balance challenges. Appropriate work and rest times. Sometimes working around injuries is needed, too, so we don’t simply stop exercising.

And then, just as importantly, following it up with recovery.

Figuring out what to do can be daunting…

But this is what Revity3 is designed, from scratch, to do.

We set up our workouts with all this in mind. All you need to do is show up.

We will take care of the rest!
